Obituary of Shirley Ellen Morris

Shirley Ellen (Busick) Morris, 87, of Sun City West, AZ went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2024.  Shirley was born in Newtown, Missouri to Paul and Reba (Markel) Busick.  She married the love of her life, Samuel Morris, on December 25, 1954, and they shared 61 happy years before Sam passed. The couple resided for more than 40 years in Moline, IL, and then upon retirement relocated to Sun City West, AZ in 2000.  Shirley was an Avon Sales Representative in IL for many years while raising her children.  In Sun City West, Shirley was a member of New Hope Fellowship Church where she volunteered her time and talents. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and friend, Shirley enjoyed bowling, bocce ball, reading, playing cards with friends, and volunteering at church.    

Preceding her death was her husband, Sam; parents; brother, Jim Busick (Newtown, MO); sisters, Donna Brough (Boulder, CO), and Linda Weston (Cincinnati, OH); and great-grandson, Finley Ortscheid (Fenton, MO).  Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Rick) Ortscheid of St. Charles, MO, and Kelly (Jeff) Vogt of Glendale, AZ; five grandsons, Zachary, Jacob, and Isaac Vogt (AZ), and Eric and Andrew Ortscheid (MO), and five great-grandchildren.   

A Celebration of Life service will be at a later date at Newtown Christian Church in Missouri.  Inurnment will be at the Newtown Cemetery.
