Obituary of William "Fritz" Wagner

William F. Wagner, also known by many as Fritz, passed away at the age of 87 on March 5, 2024.

Born in Springfield, Ohio on January 4, 1937, Fritz obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and a masters in Chemical Engineering from Cal Tech, equipping him with a wide range of skills and knowledge to excel in his career.

After 39 years at DuPont, Fritz retired as a Director of Information Technology Systems Global Security.  Achieving the position of Director after such a long and successful career is a testament to this his dedication and leadership skills. Fritz’s accomplishments at DuPont reflect a commitment to excellence and a strong work ethic that contributed to his professional success over nearly four decades.

Fritz married Janet "Ginger" in 1980, divorced, and then reunited as life partners. Together, they shared a love for dogs, adopting 7 rescue dogs and supporting numerous rescue organizations. In his retirement years, Fritz made a conscious decision to enrich his life by learning to play the piano and immersing himself in the world of classical music. He was a true lover of the finer things in life, always eager to indulge in delicious food and exquisite wines. Together, he and Giner embarked on countless journeys across the globe exploring the world and indulged in many cruises that provided them with unforgettable memories and experiences.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hollis and Mariel Wagner, brother James Wagner, son Mark Wagner and daughter Karen Adkins.  Fritz is survived by his life partner of over 40 years, Ginger, daughter Laurie Apostolico, grandson Mark Apostolico, and his beloved fur babies Cali, Gretta and Maja.

In accordance with Fritz's wishes, there will be no services held, but memories and condolences can be shared on his tribute wall.
