It is with broken hearts that the family reports the passing of Norma Faye Helvey. “Faye” was born in Germantown, KY on December 3, 1937, to Joseph Browning Helvey and Mary Alice Branham, the first of four children, and passed away on December 27, 2020, with her daughter Deanna by her side. She was at peace when she left us, with love in her heart and with the certainty of God’s love within her. Faye was 83 years young. Faye originally moved to Phoenix in 1973 but lived throughout various states before coming back to retire and settle in with her daughter and son in law.
She was a selfless, caring, strong, and a had a tremendous love for her family. Faye loved antique shopping, crafting, cooking, reading mystery novels, crossword puzzles, reading the Bible and was known as Lady Faye by her fellow Red Hat Society sisterhood.
Faye married Joseph Doyen in 1957, had three children and later divorced in 1973 but remained friends. She then married Donald Gehrls in 1976 and divorced in 1986, they had no children together. Faye is survived by her son Charles Allan Doyen of Prattsburgh, NY and daughter Deanna Faye Norell of Phoenix, AZ, along with her only surviving brother Bobby Helvey of Jackson, KY and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Michelle Elizabeth Zuniga.
