OFFICIAL OBITUARY FOR

Mary Ellis (Hindal) Creeden

1945 - 2021

OBITUARY Print

Mary Ellis Creeden (Hindal) was born on December 30, 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa to Paul Hindal and Mary Marie Hindal (nee Lawson). She was a vivacious outgoing person who made friends easily wherever she went. Quick with a joke or a story she was the life of the party at any get together.

She went to Hillis Elementary, Franklin Junior High, Roosevelt High and Grand View University (then Grand View Junior College). She also took classes at the University of Phoenix, earning an Associate Degree. Though she had a wide variety of interest and held down many jobs, it always came back to art. Specifically visual arts in a variety of mediums.

She leaves behind two daughters, Valarie Mattingly and Jill Kollman, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, two step children, her brother John Hindal, a significant other Paul Cocking and many many close friends. She was preceded in death by her brother David Hindal.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her name to the Phoenix Art Museum, https://phxart.org/get-involved/donate/ , or the Salvation Army, https://www.salvationarmyphoenix.org/memorial-giving.

Mary will be missed by all who knew her, she will be forever in our hearts.
