Julie Anne Van Horn, 64, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 6, 2021. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Norman Van Horn and Mary Anne Brennan Van Horn. She grew up in Michigan, California, and Georgia, but her heart was always with Michigan and summers she spent at Rondeau Park in Canada. She moved in 1980 to Florida with her parents and lived with them through their passing. In 2018, she moved to Sun City, Arizona to be near family. There she joined the volunteer group Sun City Prides which keeps the grounds so beautiful. She tended two raised bed gardens at the Community Garden where she grew vegetables and flowers. She loved pool walking, swimming, gardening, computer games, music, tv, animated feature films, cartoons, puzzle books, china painting, family get togethers, and reminiscing with family photos of the past and keeping up with the progress of the younger generations of extended family through photos and Facebook.
Julie is survived by her sisters Deborah Van Horn, Dianne Schattner, Anne Van Horn, and her brothers Robert Van Horn and Richard Van Horn.
A small private family prayer service is planned for noon on Thursday, 5/13 at Regency Mortuary in Sun City, AZ. A family event will be scheduled to celebrate her life.
