Bobbi "Bonnie" Jean (Shoemaker) Walter, 89, took the Hand of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and peacefully entered her heavenly home on Friday, June 4, 2021. She was at home surrounded by the love of her family.
Bobbi was born on December 23, 1931 in Wilkesboro NC to the late Leona Mae Teague Shoemaker Schneider and the late James Fred Shoemaker.
Bobbi had a magnetic personality, full of life and love for all of her family and many friends. She was known for her style, sass and beauty and just her presence was bigger than life.
She enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays, but especially the decorating that accompanied each one. Her favorite holiday was Christmas with it’s many sights and sounds. She loved to sight see and visit new places and experience new things. She was a connoisseur of food and enjoyed its many varieties especially Oatmeal, blueberries and walnuts. She loved wind chimes and butterflies.
She was also an avid animal lover with her favorites being those that shared her life down through the years; namely her dogs, Sugar, Baby, Gretzky, Misty and Rusty, her cats, Cassius and Boomer, and her Desert Tortoise, ET.
Bobbi was a devoted member of Family Worship Center and was proud to identify herself as a redeemed child of the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved listening to Christian music and watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.
Bobbi was quick to tell anyone she met of their need to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and to live for Him.
Bobbi was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Mark Goldsmith (1963) and Richard John Goldsmith Jr. (2021) of Sun City Arizona, a daughter, Deborah Lynn Goldsmith (2016) of Costa Mesa California and a Granddaughter, Candice Lynn Colkitt (2020) of Fort Meyers Florida.
Bobbi is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Timothy J. Walter; two sons, Tony A. Keller of Hickory NC, Mark W. Goldsmith of Oceanside California, and a daughter, Marsha A. Vega of Hickory NC.
She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Sue Shoemaker Brewer Bradley of North Carolina, Judy Ann Shoemaker Thomas of Lake City South Carolina and a brother, James Fred Shoemaker Jr. of Spring Hill Florida.
Bobbi had 14 Grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bobbi’s final resting place will be West Resthaven Funeral Home and Park Cemetery in Glendale AZ.
