Wendell Ausenbaugh

Wendell L. Ausenbaugh, age 76, passed away peacefully the morning of April 23rd, 2018 at Banner Boswell Hospital in Sun City, AZ.

He is survived by his children, David and Megan, grandchildren, sister, Jeannie, many cousins and his grandpups, Pork Chop & Piper. Wendell was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann and his parents.

Wendell was born in Colorado on June 8, 1941. He joined the Navy in 1959. After he left the Navy, he pursued a career in the aviation industry, holding many different positions, including mechanic and auditor. He retired after 30+ years. His time with the airlines allowed him to travel to many different places and see a lot of the world.

Wendell met Jo Ann Lovelace in January, 1978. They married October 31, 1978 in Denver. As they celebrated each year's anniversary, they would remind each other "Was it a trick or a treat?"

He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in early 2014, and shortly after became a permanent resident of Sun City, AZ where he continued his cancer treatments. Throughout his long battle, he continued to defy the odds of this grim diagnoses.

He loved going to the many recreation centers in the area to jump in the pool, going to the gym, having his son visit and enjoying the Arizona heat.

Wendell was loved by his family and friends.
