Walter Richard (Rick) Goodhart, 73. Born in Warren, Ohio November 29th, 1947. Moved to the Phoenix, Arizona area as a young boy with his grandmother Olive Phillippi. Graduated from Camelback High in 1966. Rick became a Certified Respiratory Therapist in 1975. Rick worked at several area hospitals before moving to Las Vegas Nevada where he worked at many facilities before retiring from Mountain View Hospital. He took great pride in being a respiratory therapist and loved working in the neonatal ICU’s where he worked.
Rick and Karen returned to the Phoenix area in 2016 settling in Sun City West. Rick was an active member or the Sportsman Club and Photography Club. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, off-roading, photography and motorcycling, taking many adventuresome rides to scenic destinations, seeing National Parks, and riding almost the full distance of Highway 1 in California with Karen at his side.
In 1986 Rick married his life partner and loving wife Karen Barber. Rick passed away peacefully at Banner Del Webb under Banner Hospice care because of COVID-19 (please wear your mask and get treated early if you have severe symptoms) on February 1, 2021. He is preceded in death by His Grandmother Olive Phillippi, Aunt Luella Hiesel, Uncle Norman Garner, Mother Earlene Remsey, Father Wayne Goodhart.
Rick is survived by his loving wife Karen, Daughter Cheri Goodhart, Sister Cheryl Battersby. Brother Mark Remsey, Niece Ashley (Louis) Vu, Great nieces Olivia and Natalie Vu, Nephew Alex Vu. Rick was also blessed with a host of brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews on Karen’s side of the family who loved him dearly.
There will not be a memorial service if you drink have a martini and toast him. He will be cremated, and ashes will become Parting Stones.
