Simone Phan-Thanh of Las Vegas, Nevada, youngest daughter of Mssr. Edouard Phan-Thanh Hoi & Mdm. Nguyen Thi Luong; was born in Saigon, South Vietnam on July 9th, 1958. Simone Passed away on January 11th, 2019 following a long battle with a progressive and terminal condition while visiting her loving nephew and godson Romeo Phan-Thanh in Phoenix, Arizona. Simone was a graduate of Farrington High School, in Honolulu Hawaii, Class of 1977. She was a visionary with a passion for business. She led an active lifestyle with extensive travel both in the USA and abroad. She was an entrepreneur with a flair for fashion and design. While living in Honolulu, she founded the Vogue Image Boutique and established 'Simone Edouard Designs' a high-end fashion jewelry manufacturer.
Simone was the loving partner of Scott Child of Snowmass, Colorado, a retired Navy Chief, and currently a government contract logistics analyst. Simone is survived by her sisters Helene & Alice of Honolulu and Elisabeth of Las Vegas; also, brothers Marcel & Alphonse of Honolulu and Antoine of Limoges, France. Though she had no children of her own she has many nieces and nephews both in the States and in France who made her very proud to be their Auntie.
Though her time was short, she accomplished much and touched many lives in the years she had. She will be missed greatly by family and friends. A brief Buddhist service of commitment will be held at Regency Mortuary in Sun City, AZ attended by immediate family members and close friends. She desired to be remembered as she was by friends and extended family with a smile on her face and joy in her heart.

during her life. She had a generous heart and a number of charities she cheerfully supported. Memorial gifts may be made in her name with Saint Jude's Children's Hospital, World Vision International, UNICEF, Salvation Army, or various Vietnam Charities of your choice.
