Scott Crawford

October 12, 1968 — January 29, 2018

Capt. Scott Leigh Crawford, 49, passed on Jan. 29, 2018, of cancer, in Glendale, AZ. He was born Oct. 12, 1968 in Elmhurst, IL to parents, Jere & Nancy (Carlson) Crawford. He was a pilot flying for Air-Evac/PHI in the Glendale area. He leaves behind his parents, wife, Raquel and her two children, Max and Kiera; his brothers, Shawn and Steven (Denise) Crawford, niece Jaiden Merigold and nephew/godson Lazarus Crawford, aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Kenneth and Lillian (Lasky) Carlson and an uncle, Alan Crawford and aunt, Marjorie (Rowland) Crawford. Scott lived life to the fullest, attending many Grateful Dead concerts, also loving the Foo Fighters and The Doors. He visited Jim Morrison's grave in Paris. He loved Batman; that was a favorite costume of his. He loved flying the helicopter, always showing family and friends where he worked when they came to visit. And football! He loved watching football and rooting for the Redskins. As a long-time resident of Virginia, he became a fan and attended games or training camps. He was a very private person, but if he was your friend, he was loyal to a fault. Everyone loved him. Not many people can say they love their job, but Scott surely did. He loved flying and helping people when they were sick or injured. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Glendale Airpark, 6791 N. Glen Harbor Blvd., Glendale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 in his memory.
