Sally Lou (Davis) Hicks passed away on June 6, 2017, the most beautiful girl inside, and out, was whisked away on the wings of God to Heaven to rejoin her father, mother, and brother. She left behind a grieving husband of 59 years, Gerald Sr, and her older sister, Florence Portell. She also left a son, Gerald Jr (Leslie), and a daughter, Athena Timiney (Scott), as well as 5 granddaughters and 1 grandson. She also leaves 4 great-granddaughters and 3 great-grandsons. Sally Lou was born on June 18, 1938, in Madison, Illinois, and graduated from Madison High School in 1957. She earned a B.A. degree in Education from ASU. She taught primary grades at Peralta School for 22 years. She loved to travel and has visited more than 50 countries and 6 continents. She loved cruises and took a number of them. She loved playing bridge with her longtime Peralta girlfriends. She will be greatly missed by many surviving people. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the Lupus Foundation of American in Sally Lou's name. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jun 14, 2017, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Regency Mortuary, 9850 W. Thunderbird Blvd, Sun City, Arizona. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 11 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Sun City at 12225 N. 103rd Ave, with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow services at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona.
