Roberta Edens

February 23, 1930 — September 27, 2016

Roberta Mae Brecount Edens 1930 - 2016 Roberta M. Brecount Edens passed peacefully from this earth into the loving arms of our Savior on September 27, 2016. She will be remembered as one who truly loved her family and had a tremendous testimony of the gospel. Roberta was born to Helen Catherine and Robert Lester Brecount on February 23, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She married Talmadge (Terry) Roy Edens in November 1961 and they were later sealed to each other for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her sister, Nancy L. Brecount Jennings and her five children. She loved her children, Timothy L. Schweibert (Marnie), Mark A. Schweibert, Jo Ann Schweibert Homier, Bobbi R Edens Schultz, and Cynthia L Edens Frago. She also experienced great joy from her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always so excited to welcome a new baby into the family and spent a great deal of time with the small children. Roberta had many talents; she was an excellent seamstress, a great cook, and she had an amazing work ethic. Even though we didn't have much money, she was always able to decorate our home, sew for us children and make fabulous dinners with food from our garden, or whatever she had available to her. We never knew we were poor! However, her greatest talent and joy came from painting, which she was still doing just weeks before her passing. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church. She spent many hours reading and studying her scriptures and always encouraged her children to be faithful as well. She had a great love and belief in her Heavenly Father, His Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. She loved doing genealogy and showed us the importance of strong family roots. Memorial services will be Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11 AM at the Santa Fe Ward LDS Chapel at 12951 N 83rd Avenue and Sweetwater in Peoria. She was buried at Glendale Memorial Park Cemetery, 7844 N 61st Ave, Glendale, AZ.
