Patricia Platt

May 18, 1958 — October 18, 2018

Patricia (Trisha) Judith Botka Platt, 60, of Ross Avenue in Peoria died at approximately 12:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at Highland Lakes Care Home in Glendale, AZ after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born May 18, 1958 in South Bend, IN, Trisha was the daughter of Louis C. and Betty A. Botka. She graduated from South Bend Washington High School in 1977 and then went to beauty school to become a hair dresser. In 1984 she opened her own beauty supply store, PJ's Hair Care Supply, in Niles, MI. She later graduated from Ivy Tech technical school and became an operating room surgical technician at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in South Bend.

Trisha moved to Arizona in 1991 and worked at Banner Mesa Lutheran Hospital before assisting an orthopedic surgeon. She later went to technical school to become a computer programmer and worked for the Arizona Department of Health Services.

In 1993, she met the love of her life Rodney K. Platt and the two were married in 1996. After their honeymoon on Kauai, she was deeply inspired by Hawaii's beauty and culture. She embraced the Hawaiian spirit, loved Hawaiian music, took hula lessons, and learned the Hawaiian language. She started her business - Aloha Errands and Personal Assistant - to reflect her love of Hawaii. That same Aloha spirit is what friends and family will miss most about Trisha. She truly was Hawaiian at heart.

Surviving are her husband Rodney K. Platt; brother Donald (Linda) Botka of Brighton, MI and Granger, IN; brother Kenneth (Barbara) Botka of Mishawaka, IN; nephew Michael (Erica) Botka of Plymouth, MI; niece Jennifer Botka of Mishawaka, IN; niece Sarah Salazar and daughter Hannah of Osceola, IN; sister-in-law Hilde (Don) Varner of Beaver, PA; sister-in-law Phyllis (Brad) Smith of Slippery Rock, PA; nephew Mark (Amber) Giannone; niece Emily Smith; nephew Neil Smith; and niece Abigail Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Louis and Hattie Botka, John and Frances Kwitek and niece Shelly Botka.
