Marilyn Joan Childs

Marilyn Joan Childs 90, of Peoria, AZ, passed away peacefully on February 8^th, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, on January 15^th, 1933, the 8^TH child to Wilbur and Margaret Ankrum. She was the mother of 7 children, her son David Ness, preceded her in death on 9/8/22, she will forever be missed by her loving children, Christy (Clark) Ashton, Nancy (Gary) Karademos, Daniel (Tina) Childs, Gary Jr. (Laura) Childs., Michele (William) Kruser, and Jeff (Shannon) Childs. She was also a grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

In February 1965, Marilyn, along with her family relocated to Arizona where she was in real estate and eventually co-owned and operated an aerospace company alongside her husband which she retired from in 1985 and enjoyed some traveling and family.

Marilyn, in her younger years, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed many leagues alongside her co-workers and her then husband Gary Childs. She loved poetry, music boxes, board games, cookies, and her all-time favorite, ice cream.

Along with being a wonderful mother, she had a passion for all animals, she was a pet lover and taught her children and grandchildren to love and cherish all of God’s creatures.

A private celebration of life will be held on March 18^th, 2023.
