Sun City West resident Marianne Dudley Symons, 88, died peacefully in her sleep April 11, 2017. Marianne was born in Monte Vista, CO on November 7, 1928 to Loren and Lorena Dudley. She spent her childhood in Monte Vista, CO. In 1947, Marianne married Billy J. Taylor in Taos, NM. To this union, 2 children were born, William Dudley Taylor and Abe Jay Taylor. Marianne later moved to Denver, CO and married Alfred T. Symons. "Sy" and Marianne enjoyed many happy years in the Denver area, often participating in the El Jebel Shrine motorcycle patrol. Marianne spent her entire professional career with Mountain Bell Telephone Company. After retiring from "Ma Bell" in the mid-80s, she left her snow shovel behind and moved to Sun City West, AZ. She enjoyed international travel, was an avid golfer and member of the "Grasshoppers" golf group, and belonged to the bicycling club during her early Sun City West years. For the past 10 years, she and her little dog Maggie resided at Grandview Terrace, participating in china painting, knitting, and beading activities. She served on the Grandview Terrace Advisory Council for several years. Marianne was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy J. Taylor, her husband "Sy" Symons, and her son DudleyTaylor. Survivors include her son, Abe J. Taylor (Vickie Ford) of Ranchos de Taos, NM; step-daughter Jann Symons (Jim Perry) of Brighton, CO and grandchildren Steven Taylor, Cindy Taylor, Michele C. Paden, Samantha Taylor, Billy J. Taylor, Ashley Taylor, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Marianne requested no services.
