Marguerite "Rita" Willis

November 14, 1920 — December 8, 2020

Marguerite "Rita" Willis (Twitchell) of El Mirage, Arizona, passed away at home under the care of hospice on December 8th, 2020. She had recently achieved the satisfaction of being the first person in her family to celebrate her 100 th birthday alongside 3 of her great grandchildren, Elisabetta and twins, Jack and Evan.

Marguerite was born in Greenbush, Maine, to Harry H. and Blanch E. (Smart) Twitchell on November 14 th , 1920.   She was married first to Elden S. Morton until his passing in 1963, Fred Hutchinson until his passing in 1980, Mark Loudder until his passing in 1988 and then to Joe Willis until his passing in 2003.

She was an incredibly hard worker and always found a way to save money. She was known for her skills in the kitchen and enjoyed cooking and baking for the people she loved. She was an avid crocheter and made more afghans and dish cloths in her life than can be counted. Anyone who met her would be surprised at her age as she always looked much younger. Over the last few years, her body slowly weakened but her mind remained strong.

Marguerite is preceded in death by each of her husbands, oldest son Elden "Sonny" Morton Jr, siblings Winifred Twitchell, Walter Twitchell, Geraldine (Jean) Rollins, Marry Flatt, Edwin Twitchell, and parents Harry and Blanch Twitchell.

She will be dearly missed by her children Donna (John) Mortis of Arizona, Allen (Sandy) Morton of Connecticut, Roy (Jean) Morton of Arizona, Jane (Ron) Cotter of Arizona, sister Joan Johnston of Bangor, Maine, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
