LeRoy E Allen, a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 20, 2019 in Sun City, AZ after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family.
LeRoy was born August 11, 1942 in Warren OH to Harlen S Allen and Virginia Clark (Drennen). LeRoy is survived by his mother and sisters Nancy Sargent and Beverly (Art) Gore.
LeRoy married his longtime friend Sharon (Micki) Robbins on April 17, 2004 and the two created a LARGE blended family. Children - Doyle and Cheryl Robbins, Martin and Tina Allen, Rob and Stacy Robbins, Lydia Hardison, Darla and Wally McClure. Grandchildren - Samantha and Joshua, Elizabeth, Wyatt and Cami, Jesse, Natalia, Mandie, Courtney, Jacob and Devyn, Kala and Chase, Emily, and Melonie. Great Grandchildren - Conner, Hunter, Skyler, Bentleigh, and Adabelle. LeRoy was preceded in death by his grandson Justin and his great granddaughter Scarlette.
LeRoy served as a mechanic in the US Army from 1961 to 1964. After proudly serving his country, LeRoy worked at Shamrock Dairy in Phoenix, AZ. He then ventured to become a Maytag Maintenance Repairman for several years. LeRoy then worked himself to be supervisor at several different machine shops within the Phoenix and Colorado Springs areas. After several years of demanding work, long hours and many grey hairs, retirement took place from Minco Manufacturing July 2008.
LeRoy loved to work with his hands and tools through wood crafting, general tinkering with anything that gave him a challenge, to produce a beautiful finished outcome for his family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy. He was always willing to provide assistance on projects that anyone would propose to him. LeRoy loved to remodel and refurbish household items to perfection!
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Located at 23029 Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
