LaRea Strebe

LaRea Strebe, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2020.

She was born to James and Hazel Gibbons on September 30, 1936, in Pima, Arizona. LaRea was raised in the Gila valley and graduated from Safford High School.

After high school she attended and graduated from Eastern Arizona College. LaRea also attended and graduated from Arizona State College, the last class before it changed to Arizona State University.

LaRea married Dave Strebe on June 24, 1960, in Mesa, Arizona. Together they had 6 children.

LaRea was a teacher and taught in elementary schools, in the state prison system and even as a substitute science teacher in high school.

LaRea is survived by her husband Dave, daughter Beth Beutler, son David C Strebe, son Nathan J Strebe, daughter Anne Brown, son Jonathan P Strebe, and Leon Seeley. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and also by her sister Betty Ruth Ulibarri.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Lynette Bogue and Lori Wood.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at the Merrill Creek LDS Ward Chapel. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow services at the Florence City Cemetery.
