Kathy "Cuffy" Louise Combs October 26th, 1951- February 11th, 2019 Age 67
Kathy "Cuffy" Louise Combs was a fun-loving, extraordinary, and loyal daughter, mother, friend, sister and teacher who entered God's heavenly peace on February 11th, 2019. "Cuffy" filled the lives of many with joy, positivity, selflessness, and generosity. Kathy Louise Combs was born on October 26th, 1951 in Bear Down Country (Tuscon), Arizona. She was the middle daughter of John Franklin Combs II and Sophia Singaris. In her senior year at Salpointe Catholic High School, she was the captain of the cheer squad, while her best friend Carol was the captain of the pom team. After her high school journey ended in 1969, Kathy attended the University of Arizona where she studied secondary education and graduated in 3 years (1972). She moved to Phoenix in 1974 where she taught Junior High at Lookout Mountain Middle School in Phoenix, until switching to Cactus when the school was in its second year during the early 1980's. Ms. Combs taught her favorite subject of Economics and American Government for 40 years at Cactus and eventually received a Pillar of Pride for her contribution to the school in 2011. In 1994, she married her second husband Michael Martineau. On February 8th, 1995 she gave birth to her one and only child Jack Phillip Combs-Martineau. Kathy Combs was preceded in death by her two parents John and Sophie and her younger sister Nancy. Her devoted older sister Sally is still thriving, while "Cuffy" is survived by her only son Jack Combs-Martineau, her niece Kristin Snow and her great niece and nephew Zoe and John Charles Snow.
