Ildephonse Fleurquin

September 18, 1931 — September 4, 2016

Ildephonse L. Fleurquin September 18, 1931 - September 4, 2016 Sun City, Arizona Ildephonse (Frank) Fleurquin was born in Celles, Belgium and was a brave, young survivor of the German occupation of his county during WWII. He was fluent in French, German and Flemish by the time he graduated from Ecole Professionnelle Saint-Georges as a skilled electrician. A true craftsman, Frank was extremely adept in many other trades including masonry, rough and finish carpentry and plumbing to name a few. In 1958 Frank moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he met his wife of 54 years, Helen (nee Randazzo). They married a few years later and together, they drove Route 66 to California to embark on a new life. After having two wonderful children, they ultimately settled in Phoenix, Arizona over 40 years ago. Frank was a wonderful husband and father who loved his family dearly. He was a tremendous influence in the lives of both of his children and his granddaughters. He taught by example that words and actions can have a profound affect and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. In addition to being a mentor to his children, he was a Scout leader and a soccer coach who loved to share his vast knowledge with other young people. He is greatly admired for his brilliant mind and his kindness and compassion towards all living things. After a valiant five year battle with cancer, Frank is now able to rest in peace in the arms of the Lord. He is greatly loved and his quick smile and warm laugh will always be missed. Frank is survived by his dedicated wife Helen, his daughter Alicia Fleurquin and her partner, Paul Armstrong of Flagstaff; his son Ildephonse (Frank)Fleurquin, Jr. and his wife Kim Orgill-Fleurquin of Desert Hills; 2 granddaughters Jori and her husband Josh Smith of Kileen, TX; Danielle and her husband Rob Thomson of Flagstaff; 4 great-granddaughters Ella and Charlotte Thomson of Flagstaff and Kennedi and Maisyn Smith of Kileen, TX. He is also survived by his devoted nephew, Henry Malvoisin Fleurquin of Valencia, Spain and his niece Louise Malvoisin also of Spain and numerous other family members. "Walk with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their head in the clouds and their feet on the ground. Let their spirit ignite a fire within you to leave this world better than when you found it." -Unknown
