Elizabeth “Libby” Hill (Montgomery) Wilson lived well her 76 years, bringing joy and encouragement to many along her way.
Libby was born, 11 October 1944, in Louisville KY to Walter R. “Monty” and Elsie Louise (Mock) Montgomery, who died after giving birth. Libby and her brother were raised by their father and his second wife, Helen Lydia (Carlson) Montgomery (1916-1985).
Libby passed through the veil to the spirit world, 31 December 2020, to a joyful reunion with her beloved husband C. L. “Coy” Wilson (1942-2013), their deceased parents, grandparents, and others awaiting the resurrection.
Libby and Coy married in Austin TX in 1964 where they met as Brown School staff members, helping special needs youth. The couple worked hard, learned and grew together as an insightful, energetic, accomplished team in nearly 50 years of marriage.
Libby was a kind, loving, outgoing, fun, helpful, elegant, generous lady always finding joy in assisting others. Libby’s many occupations always achieved success and assisted others – executive secretary; Dallas Market Center receptionist and leasing agent, sales lady; and entrepreneur. She was a legendary hostess gladly welcoming with hospitality many friends, neighbors, and family. She was a long-time member of the North Dallas Women’s Club and the Collector’s Club.
While Libby and Coy had no children, they happily befriended countless rescued dogs. Upon Coy’s retirement, they took cruises abroad and trips in the USA.
They are beloved aunt and uncle to her brother’s family -- Walter R “Monty” Jr. and Janice (Hutchinson) Montgomery, their six children, and 18 grandchildren. In recent years Libby, Monty, and Jan spent much time together happily traveling and visiting family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Libby’s name can be made to your local animal shelters/rescues.
