Curtis Baber

March 14, 1965 — July 28, 2017

Curtis Jeffrey Baber, formerly of Sacramento, CA, passed away on July 28, at his home in Scottsdale, AZ, at the age of 52. Every man dies, not every man truly lives. Curtis Baber truly lived his life. He was goal oriented and he pushed himself to achieve them. He was passionate about many things; aviation, music, hiking, his mom, and good times. He graduated from Sacramento City College in 1987 and began his career in aviation as sheet metal fabricator and mechanic. He loved being around the big planes and helicopters, and worked in that field until 2016. He later moved to Oregon and fulfilled his dream of building his home with his own hands. He eventually moved to Arizona, continuing to work in aviation. There, he obtained his pilot's license and greatly enjoyed the freedom of flying. Curtis then decided to follow in his father's footsteps and became a licensed real estate agent. He began playing in bands in high school and continued to do so for most of his life. He loved being the "Bass Player" and would spend hours practicing and trying to find a way to make a career in music. He belonged to a group called Outdoor Encounters, and greatly enjoyed all the wonderful trips and adventures he shared with that group of friends. They went to Hawaii, White water rafting in Colorado, Havasupai, Rocky Point, as well as hiking, biking and camping trips. He is predeceased by his father, Leroy Baber, who passed away when Curtis was only 4 years old. He lost his beloved mother, Joanna "Hanna" Baber, in 2012. His friends are encouraged to meet at the places of their choosing to share the many memories and fun times as Curtis would want no tears. Raise your glasses, sing a song and enjoy life as he did. There will be no visitation, ashes will be spread at a later time.
