Barbara Lynne Young was called back to Heaven in the early hours of Sunday June June 19, 2016, surrounded by her family. She joined her father Thomas "Steve" Stephenson, father-in-law David O. Young, and our Heavenly Father for that Father's Day. Barbara was born to Steve and Margie Stephenson in 1959 in Yuma, AZ. She was the youngest of the three children, and lived here in Arizona the majority of her Life. She went to Alhambra Elementary, and graduated from Apollo High School. She was married to Kevin Young on May 20, 1978. Barbara very much wanted to be a Mother, and she gave birth to their Daughter Megan, that next February, 1979. It would be another 5 years before their Son Jason would join the family in June 1984. A short time later, at the tender age of 27, with a 2 year old and a 7 year old, Barbara's struggle with her health began with a cancer diagnosis that resulted in the loss of a kidney, her bladder, her uterus, and part of her intestines. Years of Radiation, multiple Surgeries, and countless Hospital Stays filled the next 30 years of her life. Loss of her other kidney, multiple battles with Sepsis, low blood pressure, low blood sugars, and Fainting spells made the last few years of her life even harder. But, through all her health struggles, Her love for life, family, her Heavenly father, her children, and her friends, are the things we all will remember the most. Barbara touched so many lives while working with healthcare workers. Sending Nursing Staff to work was her livelihood, but helping people was her true Passion. Barbara wanted to be a Doctor before all her own health problems surfaced, and she would have been an excellent one, no doubt. Nurses and healthcare literally were her life. If she wasn't working towards sending nursing staff to work, she was in the hospital having nurses and staff laughing with her stories of her silly dogs at home, or her grandson Tanner's latest endeavor on stage. She was always talking about how proud she was of her Son Jason, and his ability to wow audiences with his acting and singing. Or how proud she was of her Daughter Megan as she worked towards becoming an RN. Barbara's family was truly the reason she fought for so long to stay here in this life. She sacrificed so many hours working hard to create a better life for all those she loved. Barbara is survived by her Mother Margie, Brother Don, Sister Lori, Husband Kevin, Daughter Megan, Son Jason, Grandson Tanner, and Stepson Brad York and his family; Tari, Kali, Caitlyn, and Max.
